In this episode, Michael and I are joined by my friend Andrew. We talk about our continuing problems with Stitcher, our ongoing work with The Real Comic Guys, our playthrough of the Q.U.B.E demo, do our Stumbleupon segment, have a quick discussion about XKCD, and finally end with a discussion of Hush, Vol. 1 as our comic of the week. Get it on iTunes
This week has a very promising batch of comics. Two of my absolute favorites, The Walking Dead and Incorruptible, release new issues, along with many, many more. Below is a short list followed by a link to a complete list.
Incorruptible #26
Aquaman #5
Justice League #5
The Walking Dead #93
Fantastic Four #602
Mighty Thor #10
Leo: We’ve got some more Batman fanfiction, because let’s be honest, Batman is awesome. Plus, I’m lazy and it’s easy to find. So, here’s a short, simple story. Hope you enjoy.
Michael: I don’t think I’ve interviewed anyone for anything, ever.
Michael: I don’t think he’s dying because he puts up a heck of a fight whenever I try to weigh him.
Michael: This is therapy for me.
Leo: You hear screams coming from another room, or down the hall.
Leo: I’m not a sissy.
Michael: Leo is very tough.
Leo: I wanted to climb in the window, but no one would let me.
Leo: I don’t think it’s really haunted. Probably just a hobo that lives there, or something.
Michael: There’s been a rumor going around in my family that I’ve been going around looking for demons and stuff.
Leo: They’re like, “Oh, maybe it’s climate change related.”
Michael: Are they sterile? Or do we have to worry about them taking over the ocean?
Leo: Everything is just trying to kill everything else, basically.
Leo: There’s just too many things that want to kill me. I would never live there. Ever.
Michael: What would a German girl-band sound like?
Leo: I wonder if that kid has AIDS?
Michael: They have some crazy Halloween costumes.
Michael: But, we were talking about a brothel?
Leo: It’s not really a monster because it gives him an umbrella.
Leo: That search party was not playing around.
Michael: Stuff gets real. People die. Blood starts flying. Heads get lobbed off…
Michael: I draw pictures of me and him.
Michael: So many people get their chest punched through.
Leo: So, it’s kinda meta-comic right there.
Michael: I like to keep busy.
Leo: We just check stuff. All day, everyday. That’s all we do.
Leo: If you want to point out my lisp, I don’t care. Email me.
Michael: Technical issues. Leo: Out the butt.
Michael: Your votes are the only thing keeping my pigeon alive.
Leo: I’ll take what I can get, people.
In this episode, Michael and I are by ourselves again. We talk about our recent inclusion in the Real Comic Guys, talk about the demo of Amnesia that we played, do our StumbleUpon segment, discuss the webcomic Nothing is Forgotten by Ryan Andrews, and end on our discussion of the Image comic Invincible.

Amazing Spider-Man #678

Leo: We’re on Stitcher now! If you don’t already have it, you should totally download the app on your smartphone, iPad, or Kindle. It allows you to stream radio shows and podcasts, like ours, directly on your device without using memory or storage space. Here’s the link to our page: http://bit.ly/wvRkQc
Enjoy!
Leo: So, the other day, I contacted The Real Comic Guys about becoming a contributor on their comic review site. I may not be a contributor just yet, but they did decide to have our podcast become their first podcast contributor. So, I proudly announce that we’re now part of the Real Comic Guys team. We’re sure this will be a great partnership.
With the phones ringing off the hook, The Receptionist sprang to action. Holding three phones in each hand, she rapidly booked appointments and set lunch dates. Using her copying powers, she then copied all the relevant memos, and walked into her boss’ office. With a sultry wink and a sashay, The Receptionist leaves, another job well done.
Leo: So, we’re starting a regular thing of fanfiction every week. This particular story made me laugh so much, though not for the reason you’re likely thinking. It involves Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne, and let’s just say it’s a little strange.
Leo: “Why do you get to train a pigeon?” Michael: ” I have no idea.”
Leo: “Michael started his new major, I got a job today, so that’s pretty ballin’, and Michael’s dad never sleeps. That’s what’s been happening.”
Leo: “Wire that bad boy up.”
Michael: “Basically, you control this population of space trees, or space plants, or something. It’s kinda vague.”
Michael: “My favorite thing is to… corner the other seeds and send this cloud of death towards them.”
Michael: “My seeds don’t mess around.”
Michael: “We’re all messed up because of my dad this week.”
Leo: “So, Russia’s kinda freakin’ out about that, because they should be.”
Leo: “So, it kinda speaks a lot for America…” Michael: “And it doesn’t say good things.”
Michael: “Nope, Justin Bieber.”
Leo: “Justin, let’s get a haircut. A million dollars!”
Michael: “I’ve already got a few secret identities planned out, just in case.”
Leo: “You’re out there workin’ it.”
Leo: “Foot toons, that’s what we gotta do.”
Michael: “We should send out his phone number.”
Leo: “We’ll learn him. We’re from the South. We say that.”
Michael: “You’re kinda on his side at first, but the when he does his crazy laugh, you back off a little bit.”
Michael: “We love giving things away.”
Michael: “I only get texts from my mom.”
Leo: “It’s two o’clock in the morning, and I’m sitting in a little room doing a podcast.”
In this episode, Michael and I are without a cohost. We get a quick Terraria tip, talk about the game Eufloria, do our StumbleUpon segment, talk about the webcomic Left Handed Toons, discuss the comic miniseries Black Summer, and finally talk about the anime Death Note. In addition to all that, we talk about Michael’s pigeon, the fact that I got a job, and start a contest to name Michael’s pigeon.

Deathstroke #5
Amazing Spider-Man #677

Leo: Today, I’m going to bring those of you out there three useful and fun Terraria mods.
1. Terraria for Mac- Probably the most important one, this mod lets Mac users run Terraria which they wouldn’t normally be able to. For all the Mac users who want to try out Terraria, definitely look into this.
2. Terrafirma- A mapping mod that essentially allows you to see the entire world map, pointing out where ore, treasure, sky islands, and other things are on the map.
3. Mob Spawner- Mob Spawner, as the name implies, allows you to spawn mobs of monsters. Having a hard time finding a hook? Spawn a bunch of skeletons and get it faster. It can be used for easy item farming.
Michael: If you’re an Elder Scrolls fan like me, you’ve probably already poured countless hours into questing, collecting, and exploring the enormous world of Skyrim. After a while though (a very long while), you might want to experience something new from the game. But without a DLC to be released anytime soon, what’s a gamer to do? Let me introduce you to Skyrim mods: user-generated add-ons for the game. While it’s true that some mods act as nothing more than exploits or shortcuts, there are some much more ambitious and helpful mods. Here are a few categories you should explore.
Interface Mods
![]()
Skyrim comes with a nice, simplified interface, but scrolling through menus can put a damper on the gameplay, especially since it was optimized for playing with a controller. UI mods (or user-interface mods) can help organize all the clutter. Sky UI is a great example of this. Your items are neatly sorted in columns with flags that indicate if an item is stolen, enchanted, or poisoned. Useful features aside, it just looks great. Some other UI mods you should check out include Better Sorting, A Quality World Map, and Immersive HUD.
Texture Improvements and Add-ons
![]()
Skyrim is already a really great looking game. However, even on the highest quality setting, many textures and spells are just a step away from perfection. Texture mods can solve that problem for you. There’s a texture pack for everything from the stone steps in Whiterun, to the eye quality of your character, to the leaves and petals of all the plants in Skyrim. A few of my favorites include Xenius Character Enhancement, which gives your character a very nice texture improvement all-around, Ehanced Night Skyrim, which makes the night sky look stunning, and finally, Realistic Water Textures, which gives the water a very realistic look to it and includes several filters to choose from.
Crafting Mods and Content Packs
![]()
A lot of people feel that there are some items in the game that the player should be able to craft and not have to depend on looting from fallen enemies, such as arrows. Some people might want extra weapons, armor, and even spells that weren’t in the original release of the game. Crafting mods and content packs give players access to items that typically can’t be crafted at all, or are completely original. The most content-packed mod I could find for this category would have to be Tytanis, which adds a ton of new items and crafts, along with a few spells. For those of you who just can’t get enough magic, there’s also Midus Magic with adds, according to the download page, “40+ new and unique spell types”.
These certainly aren’t the only mods worth installing, so you should definitely look for some that appeal to you. If you have any comments or questions about the article or have a suggestion for next week’s video game topic, send us an email at panelpalspodcast@gmail.com.
Leo: So, last night, my favorite podcast talked about my feet during their live show. If you want us to talk about your feet, or anything else you feel like emailing or tweeting to us, go for it. Email us at panelpalspodcast@gmail.com or follow us @PanelPals on Twitter.
His stain senses tingling, Woman Man sprang into action. Seeing a stain on the carpet, Woman Man knew what to do. With a concentrated blast of his super-stain-fighting super vision, woman Man banished the stain. Once again, Woman Man was victorious and another household crisis was averted
Leo: Some of these might help out when we get around to doing “Terrible Comic Month”.
Michael:In this Cracked article, it show six instances in which comics predict the future, sorta.
Leo: So, Michael and I are teaching ourselves how to code in C. For those of you reading, you might be thinking, “But, Leo, the programming language C has nothing to do with comics or your podcast.”, and you’d be right. It’s simply another project for the two of us, much like this podcast started out being. Eventually, we hope to make an iPhone game, but that’s still quite some time away. Once we do though, definitely be on the lookout for it. It’ll be the best game ever. But, not really. It will be fun though.
Leo: “Don’t call me Isaac. Then, I’ll be locked in a basement, shooting tears at monsters.”
Andrew: “I feel like it’s a harem…”
Leo: “He’s a ginger in Japan. That’s gotta be something special.”
Andrew: “Are you guys hypochondriacs?” Michael: “No, we’re just problem solvers.”
Michael: “There are a lot of interesting themes: the mythological characters, the autism, a little bit of lesbomancy…”
Leo: “I don’t know how legit this spacecraft is. It looks like something I could build in my backyard.”
Leo: “The Africans copyrighted infringed. Oh snap.”
Michael: “If I wanted to be someone else, could I have their face anytime I wanted?”
Leo: “So, you can have a giant head statue floating around your house if you want.”
Leo: “If a prostitute bites your tongue, she probably deserves to be punched in the face… Unless that’s what you paid for.”
Leo: “We know when you visit, people.” Michael: “Google doesn’t lie.”
Michael: “I would be Gilgamesh, because Gilgamesh is the best at everything.”
Michael: Easily the most adorable thing you’ll see all day.
In this show, we have our friend Andrew on to guest host. We get a quick Terraria tip, talk about the game The Binding of Isaac, discuss the anime series Fate/Stay Night, talk about some links we found through Stumbleupon, quickly talk about the webcomic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, and finish up with our Comic of the Week, the miniseries Crossed, writted by Garth Ennis and drawn by Jacen Burrows.
